The AHPAT Exam evaluates candidates based on
* Verbal Skills
* Arithmetic Knowledge
* Biological Knowledge

The AHPAT scores candidates on these three elements as well as reading comprehension. It is advised to study all elements of the exam before taking it.

Applicants will have approximately three hours to complete the test comprised of close to 300 multiple choice questions.

Applicants should have a good grasp of the following skills to perform well on the test:

* Mathematics
* Verbal
* Understanding of general science
* Understanding of physical science
* Basic understanding of chemistry
* Basic understanding of overall health topics

The exam questions are broken into the different sections with the 50 questions geared to verbal ability, 40 questions on arithmetic, and 40 questions on biological questions.

The exam can be conducted by a number of Pearson testing centers throughout the US. Applicants must pay for the exam, if it is not offered through their school testing facility. Upon completion applicants will be able to apply for Allied Health schools.

The AHPAT is a general aptitude test that can be difficult to study for. It is a new test too, which means the amount of resources available for study sessions can be limited. It’s best to purchase a study guide and review material before attending, as acceptance into any medical field now requires this test to be completed.
