* Candidate needs at least a high school diploma plus direct experience as outlined.
o Have a secondary education and 1,500 hours of professional experience on a project team.

The CAPM is a computer based test (CBT) administered in a number of locations nationwide. The test is comprised of 150 multiple choice questions and test takers are allotted 3 hours to complete all 150 questions.
The PMI offers reduced rates to take the CAPM only for their members. Members of the PMI pay $225 to take the CBT version of the CAPM, while non-members pay $300. Paper exams can be requested and are available at the same prices as the CBT versions. Renewal costs follow the same price guideline. Refunds can be obtained for valid reasons, but a $100 fee will be assessed.
Applicants who take the CAPM Exam at a CBT will be able to schedule a time convenient to their schedule. Those who opt to take the paper exam will be given a scheduled time through the postal mail. Applicants can apply and pay for their exam online.
