The Case Management Nurse Exam offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) grants successful test takers with Case Management Nurse Credentials.
Those who wish to sit for the Case Management Nurse Exam must first meet the following ANCC eligibility requirements:
* Candidates must have a current and valid RN license issued in the US or an equivalent legal document from a foreign country
* Candidates need to have accumulated two years of full time work experience as an RN
* Candidates must be able to verify at least 2,000 hours of case management nursing experience within the past three years
* Candidates need at least 30 hours of continuing education coursework experience over the past three years
Candidates can expect to pay $390 as non-members and $350 as ANCC members to sit for the exam. The Case Management Nurse Exam is comprised of 175 multiple choice questions, of which 150 will be graded for accuracy. The remaining 25 questions are used for development of future exam content. The exam is administered at computer based testing centers located throughout the US. After an application has been accepted, candidates will receive written notification on how to schedule their exam.
The certifications are good for five years, at which time the exam will need to be retaken for continued credentialing. The cost of the recertification exam is $200 for ANCC members and $270 for non-members.
