The Case Management Nurse Exam is offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a way for applicants to become certified as Case Management Nurses.
Applicants who wish to take the Case Management Nurse Exam must meet the following eligibility requirements:
* Applicants must have an active RN license at the time of application, only US licensure will be considered.
* Applicants need two years of full time experience as an RN
* Applicants need a minimum of 2,000 case management experience in a clinical environment
* Applicants must have at least 30 hours of case management education in the past 3 years.
The Case Management Nurse Exam costs $390 for non-members and $350 for members. The certification is valid for a period of five years, with re-certification exams costing $270 for non-members and $200 for ANCC members.
The Case Management Nurse Exam will cover the following topics:

* Data Management
* Resource Management
* Processes of Quality Management
* Legal and Ethical Issues
* Education and Learning Techniques
* Case Management Tools
* Professional Development
The exam is composed of 150 multiple choice questions with the largest percentage falling in the Clinical Practice category.
The Case Management Nurse Exam can be applied for and taken at any time. The exam is administered at computer based testing (CBT) centers throughout the US. Once approved to take the exam, applicants will be able to choose the testing date and location within a 90 day period.
