CBGNA Study Guide

The Certifying Board of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (CBGNA) Exam offered by the Certifying Board of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates, Inc. (CBGNA) qualifies successful candidates as Gastroenterology Nurses.

In order to take the CBGNA Exam, candidates must first meet the eligibility requirements.

* Candidate must have a valid RN license issued from the US or Canada or a foreign equivalent.
* The candidate must be employed as clinical, supervisory, administrative, teaching, or in a research capacity in the field for a period of two years at full time or four years at part time.
* In addition, each candidate must provide affidavits from two practitioners verifying their work experience and qualifications.

The CBGNA Exam consists of 175 multiple-choice questions. Of those 175 questions, only 150 will be used for the final score. The remaining 25 questions will be used to develop future exams.

Candidates will be able to choose a convenient computer-based testing center nearest them after having their application accepted. On the exam day, candidates should arrive with their CASTLE admission ticket and a few forms of identification. Be sure to come at least a half hour early to the test site to give enough time for seating and admission.

The test is scored on a scale from 200-800. A passing grade falls on 450. SGNA members pay $300 for the exam while non-members pay $385. Be sure to include the full registration ee at the time of applying. Certain additional fees may apply.
