The CBM and CABM Exams are offered by the Association of Professionals in Business Management (APBM) and they grant certification as Certified Business Manager (CBM) or Certified Associate Business Manager (CABM).
Applicants who wish to take the CBM must meet the following eligibility requirements:
* Have an undergraduate degree in addition to four years of full time employment in business field.
* Must have the CABM certification or an MBA with eight years of full time work experience.
The CBM Exam is a sixteen hour exam delivered in four parts:
* Part I – 150 multiple choice questions pertaining to general management topics, operations management, marketing management, quality and process management, and human resources management.
* Part II – 150 multiple choice questions pertaining to accounting, finance, information technology, corporate control, law and governance, and international business.
* Part III – 100 multiple choice questions pertaining to 50 separate applications including everything from strategic management analysis to stakeholder analysis.
* Part IV – This portion of the test is a case study of a Harvard Business School and the test taker must write a lengthy analysis of the case.
The CBM Exam is administered in computer based testing centers throughout the US.
Applicants who wish to take the CABM Exam may be just starting careers in business, finance, accounting, or IT. CABM certification is a requirement of those who wish to take the more advanced CBM credential exam.
The CABM exam is a one part, four hour test administered in testing centers throughout the US.
