CCT Study Guide Review

The CCT Exam is offered by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) to certify qualified applicants as Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT).

Applicants who wish to take the CCT Exam must first meet the eligibility requirements set forth by the CCI:

* Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED
* Applicants must fulfill one of the following requirements to sit for the CCT Exam:

o Be a student or a degreed graduate of a cardiovascular or allied health training program
o Be employed either currently or previously at an AMA recognized allied health center.
o Have obtained a graduate or undergraduate degree in science or physical health from an accredited institution.
o Have full time volunteer experience in a health field servicing Cardiovascular Technology, with provided documentation verifying the work.
* All Applicants must provide written evidence to support their claim to work experience or degrees in order to be eligible.

Applicants must submit the aforementioned application requirements along with a $160 examination fee. If the applicant cancels for any reason, $100 of the fee is non-refundable. The CCT certification lasts for three years, so applicants will need to recertify through the exam process prior to their three years being up.
The CCT Exam covers the following topics extensively:

* Cardiovascular Anatomy and Physiology
* ECG Techniques
* Basic Cardiovascular Electrophysiology
* Stress Test Techniques Indications and Contraindications
* Holter Monitoring
* Cardiac Medication

The CCT Exam is administered through Pearson examination sites found throughout the US. Applicants will need to bring two forms of valid identification to the exam site, with one being a photo ID.
