CEOE Study Guide Review

The CEOE Exam is offered by the Oklahoma Commission for Teacher Preparation (OCTP). The OCTP offers teacher candidates certification as Oklahoma Educators (CEOE), Oklahoma Professional Teaching Examinations (OPTE), Oklahoma Subject Area Test (OSAT), and Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET).
To gain CEOE certification applicants must complete exams constructed by the Oklahoma Commission for Teacher Preparation. The OGET is a general education barometer test. The OGET costs $75 to take.

The OPTE is a professional teaching examination meant to grant teacher applicants with the required certification for teaching in public schools. The OPTE is composed of 75 selection questions and 3 written response items. Those who pass the OPTE can enter teaching positions in Oklahoma. The OPTE registration fee is $150.

The OSAT exam reviews specialized areas of study pertaining to varying levels of Elementary education. The test is composed of 80 select style questions and 1 written response question. There are close to 50 different specialized exams related to mathematics, agriculture, languages, journalism, and a lot more. If it is taught in an Oklahoma school, then they have likely created an OSAT exam related to the subject matter. Elementary OSAT exams cost $45 apiece to take, while the OSAT School Administrator tests cost $130 for Superintendent and $110 for all others.
The CEOE exams are administered at Pearson testing sites on the schedule put forth by the CEOE. Any of the CEOE certified tests carry a $40 one-time registration fee that pays for the Pearson testing facility. Those taking the OPTE do not need to pay the $40.
