Certified Six Sigma Study Guide Review

The Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Green Belt Exams offered by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) certify individuals as Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) and Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) respectively.

The Six Sigma Black Belt certification requires candidates to:

* Have signed affidavits verifying two completed projects or one completed project and three years of work history within the Six Sigma Body of Knowledge.
* In addition, ASQ requires candidates to have a working understanding of various leadership and six sigma duties, as well as a host of other requirements. Each individual will need to verify with ASQ as to whether they meet the various requirements set forth.
The Black Belt Certification exam is administered two times a year by ASQ and local boards. The exams are four hours long and contain 150 multiple choice questions. Candidates are allowed to bring reference material to the exam.
The Six Sigma Green Belt certification requires candidates to:
* Have three years of experience in at least one area of Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge
* Have the capacity to solve problems, have been involved in quality improvement projects, been involved, but not the leader of a project, and be able to exhibit an understanding of Six Sigma tools.

The Green Belt Certification exam is administered two times a year by ASQ and local boards. The exams are four hours long and contain 100 multiple choice questions. Candidates are allowed to bring reference material to the exam.
The CSSBB exam costs $420 for non-members and $270 for ASQ members. The CSSGB exam costs $335 for non-members and $185 for ASQ members.
