The Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) offered by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) qualifies successful candidates as Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence.
Before a candidate can sit for the CMQ/OE exam, they must first meet the ASQ eligibility requirements. These include extensive work and education experience requirements. Candidates will need to have more education experience if they have little work experience or vice versa. Please review the candidate handbook for a full detail of each job that fulfills work experience.
The CMQ/OE Exam runs $450 for non-members or $310 for ASQ members. The exam is only offered on select dates, so candidates needs to plan and schedule their test around those dates. This also means the ASQ implements hard and fast dates for application deadlines, so be sure to submit all paperwork in time to receive the test on a desired date.
All of the questions on the CMQ/OE exam are multiple-choice. Candidates will have a set amount of time to finish the exam. Typically this runs three hours but more time may be available depending on the test format. After successfully completing the exam and receiving certification, candidates will need to recertify every three years to maintain their credential.
The exam is administered at computer-based testing centers located nationwide. Candidates will be able to choose a location nearest them after having their application approved. On the exam day, candidates should plan to arrive at least a half hour early. Each candidate should bring two forms of identification and any confirmation of their exam schedule given by the ASQ.
