CMRP Study Guide

The Certified Materials & Resources Professional (CMRP) Examination offered by the American Hospital Association (AHA) qualifies successful candidates as Certified Materials & Resources Professionals (CMRP).

The AHA offers three ways to be eligible for the CMRP exam. Candidates need to fulfill a combination of education and experience requirements. The more education a candidate has, the less professional experience they will be required to have. Candidates must fulfill at least one of the following avenues.

* Bachelor’s degree with three years of healthcare resource and materials management experience
* Associates degree with five years of healthcare resource and materials management experience
* High school diploma with seven years of healthcare resource and materials management experience

The CMRP exam is a 110 multiple choice question test. Of those, only 100 will be counted towards the final grade. Candidates will have two hours to complete the exam.

The CMRP exam is composed of questions related to the following topic areas:

* Product Value Analysis
* Inventory Distribution Management
* Information Systems and Data Management
* Finance
* Strategic Planning, Leadership, and Compliance

The exam fee runs $275 for AHRMM or AHA members, but is $425 for all others. If the candidate needs to reschedule the exam for any reason, they must pay a $100 fee. The CMRP exam is administered at AMP testing centers located inside H&R block offices found nationwide. Candidates will be able to schedule their exam at a convenient location immediately following their application acceptance.
