The Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) Examination offered by the Healthcare Quality Certification Board (HQCB) qualifies successful candidates as Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
Candidates who wish to take the CPHQ exam must first meet the HQCB eligibility requirements. The HQCB does things a bit different from many other organizations, eliminating all education and experience requirements and instead asking the candidate to do a self eligibility assessment.
They believe candidates should have at least two years of experience prior to applying. It is important to remember that the CPHQ exam is not an entry level exam, but rather an exam meant to test skills of the inducted. Those comfortable with their abilities can turn to the exam fee.
The CPHQ exam fee runs $370 for NAHQ members and $440 for all others. The exam is administered at computer-based testing centers located nationwide. The AMP testing center allows candidates to take the CPHQ exam at almost any time of the year and in convenient locations throughout the US.
The CPHQ exam consists of 140 multiple-choice questions. Of those questions, 125 will be counted towards the final grade. Many of the questions ask the candidate to recall information or apply their knowledge to a particular situation. A few questions will ask the candidate to analyze a situation and choose the appropriate response.
Candidates can expect to see questions based on the following topic areas:
* Management and Leadership questions
* Information and Data Management questions
* Performance Measurement and Improvement
