NRPA CPRP Study Guide

The Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) Examination offered by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) National Certification Board (NCB) qualifies successful candidates as Certified Park and Recreation Professionals (CPRP).

For those in the Park and Recreation field the CPRP is the most sought after certification. The certification can be used as a tool to gain employment with a number of institutions, as many new graduates have been embracing the added resume builder that the certification offers.

The CPRP Exam is often administered through state licensing boards or other similar organizations. Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements set by their state board and also pay any registration fee from the board. The conditions and cost of the CPRP may vary from state to state.

The CPRP Exam consists of 150 multiple choice questions, of which 125 will be used for the grade. The remaining 25 questions are used to better the test for future candidates. Candidates should be prepared to answer questions related to the following topic areas:

* General Administration
* Programming
* Operations Management
Each of the topical areas contain a number of different subtopics, including planning, budgeting, supervision, volunteer assessment, policy, and customer service for the General Administration portion of the testing. The Operations Management portion contains the following subtopics: planning and management, maintenance management, and facility operations.

The CPRP Exam is offered at Pearson Vue computer-based testing centers located internationally. The exam can be taken six days a week, all year long.
