The Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) exam aims to certify security professionals assigned to conduct investigations. The certification given to those who pass the exam will give them an advantage when seeking employment.

To qualify for the exam, you must meet the following requirements:
* You must have 5 years experience as an investigator and at least 2 years handling case management.
* You must have a high school diploma or the equivalent in general educational development (GED).

If you are disqualified from taking the exam because you don’t meet the required years of experience as detailed above then you must request your application be put on hold until you have finished the requirement.

The exam comprises multiple choice questions. Questions cover the duties of the job, the tasks involved, and your knowledge about your profession. The exam will also measure your skills in the following categories:

* How to manage a case

* How to collect evidence

* How to present a case

Once you pass the PCI exam, it certifies that:

* You have a high level of investigative skills.

* You have a deep understanding of how to manage different cases.

* You can finish your tasks and get them done right.
