SAT Subject Test Study Guide Review

The SAT Subject Test offered by the College Board is a standardized college admissions test that students take at the finale of their high school career. Some major universities use SAT subject tests to determine a candidates overall understanding of a particular subject before admitting them to a school program.

SAT Subject Tests consist of 20 multiple-choice questions related to an exact subject. A student can take up to three different Subject Tests on the same day. For each test they take, a $29 fee has to be made. The regular SAT exam is offered seven times during a calendar year. The subject tests can be taken alongside the SAT or on the same day it’s administered. A student does not have to take the regular SAT on the same day they take the subject tests.
The SAT Subject tests currently being offered include:

* Literature
* United States History
* World History
* Math Level 1 & Level 2
* Biology
* Chemistry
* Physics
* Foreign Languages: Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Latin

Since 2005 the Writing and English Language proficiency subject tests have been removed.They were no longer needed since the regular SAT has a writing portion to the test.
Some tests do have more than 20 multiple-choice questions, but none have more than 95. Tests are scored on a point system similar to the SAT. Each test carries an overall score between 200 and 800, depending on the scope of the exam.
